New, 9th Edition sensor technology reduces false alarms often caused by cooking or shower steam, while internal components of the smoke alarm self-test to ensure that it’s always operating as expected. (Self-testing is not a substitute for a manual push test of the alarm. Perform a button test once per week to verify proper alarm operation.) The Kidde Smoke Detectors’ 5-inch design provides smoke detection for all living spaces such as your basement, living room, bedroom, kitchen, den, bathroom or crawlspace. When smoke or fire is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound and a red LED light will illuminate. The Kidde Smoke Alarm is also equipped with 3 LED indicators that illuminate based on the status of smoke alarm: green = normal operations, amber = fault in operation or error, red = smoke or fire indicated. The Kidde Photoelectric Smoke Detector is powered by a 120-Volt AC wire already installed in your ceiling and contains a 3-Volt sealed-in lithium battery (included in the alarm) that lasts the life of the alarm & works as a backup during power outages, providing peace of mind smoke detection. Installation is easy – simply mount the bracket onto the ceiling, pull the wires through the middle of the bracket, connect the wires installed in your ceiling to the Kidde Alarm & twist and click the smoke alarm into the bracket. The Kidde Smoke Detector will chirp when its time to replace the alarm, at the end of its 10-year life span. A test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as silence nuisance alarms, should they occur. This Kidde model smoke alarm also offers Interconnection or Whole-Home Connection, which is the ability to connect alarms, so when one alarm sounds, they all sound, so you never miss an emergency & can escape quickly.
