About Intake Manifold
In automotive engineering, an inlet manifold or intake manifold is the part of an engine that supplies the fuel/air mixture to the cylinders. The primary function of the intake manifold is to distribute the inlet air or air / fuel mixture to each of the cylinders evenly so that the engine can run properly and the vehicle can move.
The intake manifold must distribute air, fuel mixture or clean air to each cylinder as uniformly as possible. For this reason, the length of the gas flow path in the intake manifold should be as equal as possible. In order to reduce the gas flow resistance and improve the intake capacity, the inner wall of the intake manifold should be smooth. It is usually bolted to the engine block. They have a series of hollow channels or ports that can be aligned with the engine cylinder head.
