New, 9th Edition sensor technology reduces false alarms often caused by cooking or shower steam, while internal components of the combination smoke & carbon monoxide alarm self-test to ensure that it’s always operating as expected. The Kidde Combination Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors’ 5-inch design provides smoke detection for all living spaces such as your basement, living room, bedroom, kitchen, den, bathroom or crawlspace. When smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound and a red LED light will illuminate. Voice Alerts also announce the hazard type: “Fire!” when a smoke or fire hazard is detected, “Warning Carbon Monoxide” when a CO hazard is detected, or “Low Battery” when the batteries need to be replaced. The Kidde Battery-Operated Combination Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector is powered by two AA alkaline batteries (included), providing peace-of-mind smoke & carbon monoxide detection coverage during a power failure. Installation is easy – simply mount the bracket onto the ceiling & twist and click the smoke alarm into the bracket. The Kidde Combination Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector will chirp when the alkaline batteries need replacing or as a reminder when its time to replace the alarm, at the end of its 10-year life span. A test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as silence nuisance alarms, should they occur.
