Online vendors sell PG in various weight/volume amounts. Unfortunately, some of them mislead consumers by advertising the amounts inaccurately (not taking into account the product’s density). This makes comparison shopping difficult. We created this chart to assist customers in finding the best possible deals. The conversion table above is based on our PG’s density of 1.0362 g/cm3 (8.647 lbs/gal). Glycerin Supplier prides itself on offering the lowest price on propylene glycol anywhere. Compare and see for yourself.
If you are purchasing drums the LTL Freight quote is a retail shipping quote. If you CALL US 99.9% of the time we can get you a considerably lower rate.
The chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries use propylene glycol as an antifreeze. As an antifreeze, it prevents leakage that might result in contact with food. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has designated propylene glycol as an additive that is “generally recognized as safe” for use in food.
Propylene glycol is a colorless and viscous liquid that is almost completely odorless. It also has a slightly sweet taste. It is designated as a diol, meaning it contains two alcohol groups. It is homogenous, combining perfectly with a broad range of solvents, including water and acetone.
