OVERVIEW
The Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 is a mud terrain, all season tire manufactured for light trucks.
The tire offers an excellent all weather traction. The special triple polymer tread compound and the optimal tread design, with the large siped tread blocks, boost dry, wet and light winter weather road gripping ability. The compound keeps its flexible traction throughout the year, including in colder temperatures, while the tread elements firmly grip the road surface to ensure a secure performance all year. The high void ratio eliminates snow and slush from below the footprint and prevents them from blocking the tire’s contact with the terrain surface to guarantee a secure performance. The better year round traction and self-cleaning capability promote a safer driving experience on off-road terrains.
The tire’s tread design and reinforced structure makes it perfects for the harsh off-road conditions. The tread elements firmly grip the road surface while the tires are in motion, which upgrades the soft, loose and even uneven terrain surface gripping ability. Furthermore, the tire especially shines when it is performing in deep mud and lose dirt. The high void ratio and the staggered tread block placement maintain a clean footprint by dispersing mud and ejecting rocks stuck between the tread elements. In this manner, the tire is not blocked from its contact with the terrain surface, while the stone ejectors effectively prevent stone retention from harming the tire’s casing. The improved off-road traction and self-cleaning nature of the tread ensure a secure off-road drive.
The model was manufactured with the Geo-Shield technology and the special aggressive sidewall armor that protect the tire against off-road damage. The sidewall armor places differently shaped tread elements on the tire’s sidewalls that prevent abrasions, cuts and bruises from shortening the tire’s lifetime. The Geo-Shield technology places multiple sidewall plies and steel belts into the tire’s internal structure which improves its protection against damage. The special triple polymer tread compound and the wide and flat footprint work together to boost the tread life length. The polymer compound slows the tread wear rate down, while the flat footprint prevents uneven tread wear formations with the even pressure distribution which enhances the tread life and the tire’s usability significantly.
The Geolandar M/T G003 ensures a first-rate controllability. The flat footprint’s constant road contact and the reinforced internal structure enhance the steering responsiveness and driving stability. As a result, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver’s commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting it. This enables the driver to confidently control the vehicle on all off-road terrains.
The intended purpose of Mud Terrain tire types is off-road use. They are not designed for regular highway driving.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
