The MFM Wind and Water Seal is a self-adhering roof underlayment with a non-slip polymer film. It has a high-temperature, rubberized asphalt adhesive roof underlayment that will not crack or dry while remaining protected by a split release film that is removed once the underlayment is installed. Make sure to install Wind and Water Seal underlayment with proper ventilation, because it is considered to be a vapor barrier. Wind and Water Seal is compatible with most sealants and primers and can be applied to plywood, OSB, foam insulation, house-wrap, rigid vinyl, and masonry, as long as the surface is clean and dry before application. This particular self adhered underlayment is ideal for protection against ice dams or weather conditions such as wind-driven rain because of its reliable, uniform thickness. It is recommended to apply this underlayment in temperatures over 50° F on decks that have a minimum slope of 3:12. This protective barrier is most effective when stored out of direct sunlight. Once applied, the Wind and Water Seal must be covered within 60 days of the installation. MFM backs the Wind and Water Seal with a 10-year limited warranty.
